The Houston Astros’ relief corps was critical in securing the win. Steven Okert earned the victory (6-1) by pitching 1.1 innings without allowing a hit or run, striking out no batters but retiring the side efficiently with zero walks issued. He was supported by AJ Blubaugh, who threw 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and no walks.
Bryan Abreu recorded his eighth hold over one perfect inning with two strikeouts. Josh Hader closed the game with his 17th save, pitching a hitless, walk-free inning with zero strikeouts to preserve the lead.
For San Francisco, Keaton Winn took the loss (2-3) after allowing one earned run in 1.2 innings of work. Adrian Houser pitched six strong innings for the Giants, allowing just two hits and no earned runs while striking out five batters. Reiver Sanmartin also contributed by pitching a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
