The San Francisco 49ers have made significant additions to their practice squad by signing four players. Among them is Anthony Jr., a 22-year-old tight end from Durham, North Carolina. He stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 258 pounds.
After going undrafted, he joined the Kansas City Chiefs on May 1, 2026, but was waived on August 30. He previously played at Duke University, where he recorded 103 tackles and 15 sacks across 48 games.
Another player added is Codrington, a 25-year-old defensive back who is 5 feet 9 inches and weighs 185 pounds. He began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the New York Jets on May 6, 2024. Codrington has played in 21 games, making nine tackles and recovering two fumbles, after being waived by the Houston Texans on August 30.
He attended North Carolina Central University.
The 49ers also signed Givens, a 29-year-old defensive lineman who is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 285 pounds. Givens has been with San Francisco for seven seasons, having entered the league as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2019. He has played in 70 games, starting 14, and has tallied 93 tackles and eight sacks.
