The Los Angeles Chargers are dealing with uncertainty surrounding kicker Cameron Dicker after their final preseason matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Dicker was spotted in the medical tent during the game, which raised alarms among fans, particularly after he failed to convert a 49-yard field goal attempt just before halftime.

Despite the concerns, Dicker assured that he is okay, saying, "Nothing's wrong," in a discussion with ESPN's Kris Rhim following the Chargers' close 20-18 defeat. However, head coach Jim Harbaugh indicated some caution, mentioning that Dicker is "working through something."

The Chargers are already facing challenges with the loss of new center Tyler Biadasz for the entire 2026 season, compounding the injury issues from the previous year. Dicker's contributions will be vital for the team, especially with quarterback Justin Herbert and running back Omarion Hampton in the lineup, as they seek to bolster their scoring capabilities amid offensive line difficulties.

Last season, Dicker had an impressive record, successfully converting 38 out of 41 field goals and 34 of 35 extra-point attempts, which included five successful field goals from distances exceeding 50 yards. The team has just over two weeks to prepare him for the game against the Arizona Cardinals on September 13. No additional information about Dicker's condition or the team's strategies has been released.
