The Los Angeles Chargers have added tight end Patrick Herbert to their roster, marking a reunion with his brother, quarterback Justin Herbert. Patrick joins the Chargers after leaving the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he had been since going undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo reported that Patrick received interest from several teams but ultimately decided to sign with the Chargers after researching the team's starting quarterback. Head coach Jim Harbaugh will now have both Herbert brothers on the roster, which could lead to lighthearted moments during practice when he calls out their shared last name.
Patrick Herbert previously played at the University of Oregon from 2019 to 2024, where he recorded four touchdown catches, including two in a game against Washington in October 2023. His addition is expected to enhance the depth at the tight end position for the Chargers.
