The Los Angeles Rams are in the process of finalizing their 53-man roster by August 30, following the end of their preseason games, including a recent contest with the Los Angeles Chargers. Coach Sean McVay and his staff are making difficult choices as they reduce the roster after several weeks of training camp and three preseason matches.

Key players have secured their spots, including quarterback Stetson Bennett and running back Ronnie Rivers. Bennett's position was in doubt due to competition for the backup quarterback role, particularly after the Rams selected Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson as the No. 13 overall pick. However, Bennett's understanding of the offense and his preseason performance helped him retain his position.

Rivers also contended for a place in a competitive running back group, where Kyren Williams and Blake Corum were seen as strong candidates. Rivers stood out due to his performance in special teams and return duties, enhancing his chances of making the final roster.

As the Rams prepare to announce their roster decisions, focus will turn to those players who will not be included. Released or waived players will be looking for new opportunities, with some possibly returning to the Rams' practice squad or being signed by other teams.

The anticipation for the Rams' final roster is significant, as they are currently favored to win Super Bowl LXI with odds set at +550 according to Fan Duel.
