The Los Angeles Rams are 1-2 to begin the 2026 NFL season, and ESPN analyst Ben Solak has suggested two receivers the team could consider acquiring. The Rams have lost to the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos and defeated the New York Giants.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. is one option cited by Solak. The 30-year-old has been absent for 18 games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, but he has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in four of the last seven years. He has also reached 80 catches and five touchdowns regularly.
Godwin is a former second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection, and his 4.42-second 40-yard dash was noted as a speed element not provided by the Rams’ other star receivers, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.
Solak also mentioned Denver Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton, 30, who has two Pro Bowl selections. Sutton has missed three games since 2021 and posted 1,000-yard campaigns in each of the past two seasons, totaling 155 receptions and 15 touchdowns. The Rams could seek another established receiver alongside Adams if Nacua needs more recovery time.
Nacua could return in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but his availability and condition are uncertain, while coach Sean McVay has expressed hope that he plays. Myles Garrett is on injured reserve and is expected to miss at least through Week 6. No trade involving Godwin or Sutton has been reported, and details remain unclear.
