Stan Kroenke, the owner of the Los Angeles Rams, has secured an agreement to purchase the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno. This acquisition will expand Kroenke's sports portfolio and is expected to finalize in the first quarter of 2027, subject to standard closing conditions and Major League Baseball approval.
Arte Moreno, who has owned the Angels for 23 years, expressed his contentment with the deal, noting that Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is well-positioned to lead the franchise into the future. Moreno's tenure included five American League West titles and two American League Championship Series appearances, although the team has faced challenges in recent years, finishing last in their division in both 2024 and 2025.
Kroenke Sports & Entertainment also owns several prominent teams, including the Denver Nuggets and the Colorado Avalanche, and manages venues like SoFi Stadium. The transition comes as the Angels have struggled, prompting fan protests for Moreno to sell the team.
