The Cupertino Library has scheduled the Cambrian Quintet for a performance on July 12 as part of its Summer Music in the Courtyard series. Cupertino is located approximately 4 miles north of Saratoga.

This fourth annual event series features live performances every Sunday afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. in the library’s outdoor courtyard. The concerts are free and open to all ages. The Cambrian Quintet, which includes flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and French horn, will present a mix of light classical works by composers such as Mozart and Debussy alongside themes from film scores.

Following the July 12 concert, the Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band is scheduled to perform on July 19. Details regarding future performers in the series have not been provided.

In local organizational news, Sandy Chen Stokes has stepped down as executive director of the Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC) after 15 years leading the Cupertino-based group. Stokes will remain with the organization as a senior advisor to the leadership team and board.

The CACCC board has appointed Alex Tsao, PhD, and Cynthia X. Pan, MD, as co-executive directors. Serving in a volunteer capacity, the new leaders will oversee the coalition’s programs and partnerships. Their work focuses on supporting Chinese Americans in navigating end-of-life care with dignity and respect.

Specifics regarding the transition timeline or the long-term strategic plans for the coalition were not detailed in the available reports.
