The Houston Astros overcame a scoreless stretch late in regulation to secure a 6-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on Tuesday. The win improved Houston’s record to 61-59, while the Giants fell to 49-70.

Houston took an early lead when Jose Altuve hit a sacrifice fly to left field in the first inning, allowing Yordan Alvarez to score for a 1-0 advantage. San Francisco responded in the fourth inning when Michael Gilbert hit a sacrifice fly to left, tying the game at 1-1 after Matt Chapman scored.

For San Francisco, Blade Tidwell started and pitched 5.2 innings, allowing one earned run on four hits with six strikeouts. JT Brubaker entered in relief, allowing one earned run in 0.2 innings before being charged with the loss. Sam Hentges pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout.

Keaton Winn pitched 0.2 scoreless innings to earn his 14th hold. Dylan Smith allowed one earned run in one inning, and Jason Foley took the loss after allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks in his single inning of work.
