In light of Biadasz's injury, rookie center Jake Slaughter has taken over practice duties. Meanwhile, quarterback Justin Herbert is anticipated to participate in one series during the upcoming preseason matchup against the 49ers at SoFi Stadium, marking his return to action since the AFC wild-card round last January.
The offensive line's setup remains uncertain, particularly with left tackle Rashawn Slater also out due to a knee issue that has kept him from practice for the last eight sessions. Slater has attempted to minimize concerns about his injury, stressing the importance of a cautious recovery from a previous major injury.
Should Slater be unable to play, the starting offensive line could consist of Trey Pipkins III at left tackle, Kayode Awosika at left guard, Slaughter at center, Cole Strange at right guard, and Joe Alt at right tackle. Slaughter, a second-round draft selection from the University of Florida, is also competing for the starting left guard position following Zion Johnson's departure.
